How to acquire a Driving permit in Uganda, There are some few steps for one to acquire a driving permit in Uganda: As a Ugandan/East African citizen, you must be 18 year of age, then you can enroll for driving lessons, where you will be required to purchase a learner’s driving permit. A learners driving permit restricted permit given to first time drivers before obtaining the full time driver’;s permit.

Then be required to apply for the full time driving permit at an agreed amount of money, thereafter provide full proof about your identity(age, nationality, name).  Be subjected to a driving test, then finally get your driving license. with your valid driving permit, you can be eligible to drive any where in Uganda and entire east Uganda.

With the aim of reducing on constant road accidents, for any one whether local or foreigner to be on the steering wheel, you must have a valid driving license.

This license  usually issued to you after attending some driving lessons in the driving schools. But getting it can prove to be a daunting challenge for newbies much like any other government document processing procedure.

Though it’s like that to most of people thinking’s, there is a simple way to get it without hassle and you can achieve this by following the steps below.

What forms do you need? (How To Acquire a driving Permit in Uganda?)

For any one applying for a driving permit, you must fill a driver’s license application form. This form costs of two parts including Form A and Form B.

Form A requires your personal details and Form B requires your medication details about your eyes usually signed by a medical doctor. You can easily pick this form from any URA branch office or download it online.

Fill part A and then take part B to the nearest eye care clinic for thorough check up and review about your eyes.

After filling the form take it back to the URA branch with the bank payment receipt. From here you will guided about further steps to take, next step is usually taking the approved documents to the face technologies at Kyambogo. Face technologies is the official driving permit processing center in Uganda.

After going through security checkpoints at face technologies, you submit your forms at “Form Collection” point, take a sit and wait, and then your name be called. This requires you to line up for the Live scan room where your bio-metric data is captured from.
